16 months old!

Just a few of her favorite things:

Helen had her 15 month appointment this month and is doing well. She still weighs 20 pounds, so she didn't gain any weight. She did grow longer though, she is 30 1/2 inches long! She can still wear most of her 12 month clothes, but is starting to wear her 18 month clothes as well. She is still in a size 4 diaper and drinks one to two 8 ounce bottles a day. She has just about dropped her morning nap. I think because she doesn't take one at school. I am please to report that she has slept on her nap mat all month at school! I never thought she would stay on it and sleep!

My mama and I took Helen to get her first pair of real shoes at a great store in Homewood. She got the white ones you can see in the picture (wore them right out of the store) and a pair of red keds! She loved it and especially loved her trip to the bakery next door to pick out her own cookie!

We took her to Tannehill last weekend and rode the train. She loved it. She really wanted to sit by herself. I told her she had to be very still and careful, love the serious look on her face! (Did you notice the pink poodle she talked her daddy into at the flea market?)

When she is not pitching the occasional fit or biting her friends at school (just a little) she is so much fun! Some of my favorite things: she throws her arms around my neck and hugs me, she stomps her feet when we ask her to do "fancy feet" and then points at us to do it over and over, she drops it like its hot when she hears music, she brings us books to read to her, she loves to throw away trash and help clean up, she also cleans the floor with a bib (never in a spot that needs it, but maybe one day), if we ask her, "are you helen?" she points at herself and smiles, she points at her eyes, ears, nose, belly button and hair-do when asked. She can finally nod yes and not just no when we ask a question which makes communicating much easier! She is quite a ham and loves to make us laugh! We are so lucky to have this girl in our lives!
