Another great retreat! Last year there were 250 of us, this year there were 433! Wow! The Created for Care team really has found a need and filled it for us! There were so many great speakers (who come for free and pay their own way to keep costs down), volunteers (who also pay their way) and a great worship band (who also paid their own way)! We are so blessed. It was amazing to hold hands and sing with 433 women with a heart for adoption. I made friends with girls from all over the country, California and Idaho to Mississippi and Georgia. I was so excited to room with my friends from Pennsylvania I met last year. Unfortunately one of the girls had a sick baby and couldn't come. Toni and I got along great and had a wonderful time, but we sure missed Megan!
Did you know there are 147 million orphans in the world? There were several moms there who have not only adopted children from around the world but started non-profits to help make a real difference.

We saw their amazing movie last year and they have a new one coming out soon. They help the imprisoned children of Uganda.
We saw their movie this year, very powerful. Light Gives Heat helps women in Uganda by providing them a sustainable income through the beautiful recycled paper jewelry they create.
We all loved being able to buy products from all of these non-profits while at the retreat. I have a bunch of great new jewelry and t-shirts!
One of the speakers asked us to raise our hand if we felt like there was something miraculous that occured during our adoption process and all of our hands went up. He really does make all things beautiful, and we are so gratefull.
I made it through my first weekend away from Helen, and did quite well! Thank goodness they keep us really busy! I can't wait until next year!
